We’re currently looking for an Engineering Director to lead the development teams of our flagship product, Provet Cloud. In this position, you will be coaching and managing the Engineering Team Leads in order to achieve our product growth targets. You will be responsible for recruiting engineers and deciding how resources are allocated between teams. You will be a key member of the veterinary management team, working closely with our Chief Product Officer, Design Lead, and CEO.

Responsibilities:

• Managing and supporting ten Engineering Team Leads, with a total in-house engineering team of over 70 developers.

• Recruiting top engineering talent

• Building high-performing engineering teams and a culture of continuous improvement.

• Building effective teams that can deliver consistently, as well as helping them balance a high-impact ship-and-iterate approach whilst ensuring our systems are robust, reliable, and compliant.

• Overseeing critical engineering operations such as recruiting, training and onboarding.

• Ensuring teams are following development best practices. E.g continuous deployment, automated testing, decoupled releases

• Linking our commercial goals to engineering and development performance metrics.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience leading software engineering teams

• Ability to attract, onboard, and retain top engineering talent

• Strong leadership and communication skills

• Strong technical background with hands-on development experience in the past.

• Experience defining and tracking key engineering metrics

• In-depth knowledge of engineering practices and software architecture

• Experience in working in an international environment.

• Fluent in written and spoken English.

• Experience working in high-growth environments & scaling up operations valued

• Experience with Python and Amazon AWS technologies valued
