About the role

We are seeking a technically hands-on Engineering Team Lead for our Enterprise team, a mission-driven team focused on delivering complex features and providing customer-facing solutions. In this role, you will spearhead the development of industry-leading functionalities for our Provet Cloud veterinary practice management product. You will technically lead and mentor an interdisciplinary team, including backend and frontend engineers, while actively participating in a Python/Django-focused development team. You will collaborate closely with a Product Manager, Designer, and QA Specialists to ensure well-planned, high-quality developments that meet customer needs.

The Enterprise Engineering Team Lead role enables seamless customer onboarding by building and integrating functionality across our platform. This includes managing day-to-day activities, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration, and ensuring exceptional quality standards. Strong technical expertise, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to motivate and inspire a customer-focused team are essential for this role to help our members achieve their full potential. 🚀

Your key responsibilities include:

The team consist of backend and frontend engineers

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of backend and frontend engineers.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to define and deliver features that address Enterprise customer needs.

• Ensure smooth collaboration between your team and domain teams to deliver well-integrated solutions.

• Own the planning, prioritization, and execution of projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.

• Drive estimation accuracy and ensure commitments are met within deadlines.

• Ensure accurate time reporting and tracking, as this impacts client billing.

• Foster a strong engineering culture, improving team performance and technical capabilities.

• Identify and address technical challenges, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and reliability.

• Proactively manage risks and remove blockers to keep projects on track.

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, keeping them informed on progress, challenges, and outcomes.

• Providing technical expertise and guidance to the engineering team to ensure that projects are executed efficiently and effectively.

• Ensuring best practices in API development, coding, and testing. Review technical designs and maintain system security and reliability.

Knowledge, Experience, and Capabilities

Required:

1. Proven experience leading engineering teams, with strong leadership and mentoring skills.

2. Solid background in backend (Python, Django) development.

3. Experience working with SQL databases (MySQL) and cloud-hosted systems.

4. Strong project management skills, including estimation, planning, and execution.

5. Ability to balance technical and business priorities in a fast-paced environment.

6. Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset in removing blockers.

7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and customer-facing teams.

Nice to Have:

1. Experience working with Enterprise clients and understanding their unique requirements.

2. Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and DevOps best practices.

3. Experience working in an Agile development environment.

4. Experience in frontend (Vue.js 3) development.
