We’re now looking for a Data Migration Specialist to support our growth and join our Data Migration team in our Veterinary Business Unit! A Data Migration Specialist takes care of migrating data from third party PMS (Practice Management System) to Provet Cloud. This is an essential role for smooth onboarding of customers who have used another PMS beforehand.
Your key responsibilities include:
Migrating data, using ready built tools.
Communicating with external and internal stakeholders about everything migration related including migration timelines, migration scope, potential issues and fixes etc.
Creating new migration tools.
Improving old migration tools with new features.
What will help you to be successful in this role?
Your main contribution: Handling migration tasks, creating and improving migration tools. Those can be achieved through understanding how the migration process works and what each part of the migration workflow does.
Challenges: Understanding the extensive API of Provet Cloud, understanding the migration workflow.
OKRs: Time spent per migration; number of new tools created / old ones converted to new framework in quarter.
Ideally, you have already gained some experience from working in a fast growing, global SaaS company, and you bring an overall understanding of Databases, REST API, ETL and Python. Willingness to learn, being flexible, communicative and levelheaded also in stressful situations is highly valued. We're preferably looking for 2-3 years of hands-on experience with the technologies we're using, but feel free to apply if you think you're a good match. Our humble wish-list includes:
- Experience in handling data migrations
- Python programming skills
- Experience with SQL and REST APIs
- Familiarity with AWS Cloud or other services
