About the role
The purpose of the Senior Product Engineer role is to drive the development and optimization of Nordhealth's Booking Portal by delivering innovative features, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability, and maintaining exceptional code quality. This role involves leveraging advanced expertise in technologies such as NextJS, AWS, and PostgreSQL while collaborating across teams to create impactful user experiences and foster technical excellence within the organization! 🚀
Your key responsibilities include:
Lead technical initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and high-quality outcomes across projects.
Demonstrates advanced expertise in frontend and backend technologies (NextJS). Champions best practices in scalable, secure, and high-performing software development.
Actively mentor team members, develop training materials, and spread technical knowledge and best practices across the organization.
Engage in cross-functional collaborations, articulate technical and strategic concepts to diverse audiences, and manage communication channels effectively for project updates.
Drive the adaptation of secure coding standards and enhance automated testing frameworks to ensure robust and reliable applications.
Lead innovative solutions, prototype new ideas, and align experimentation with strategic objectives to improve customer satisfaction and business outcomes.

Demonstrated expertise in full-stack software development, with a focus on implementing robust, secure, and scalable solutions while maintaining high code quality and technical standards.
Proactive collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and engineering, to align technical efforts with business objectives and deliver exceptional user experiences.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively present technical concepts, manage communication channels, and contribute to strategic proposals.
Ability to mentor team members, share knowledge, and foster a culture of learning and technical excellence across the organization.
Ownership and accountability for driving innovation, making data-driven decisions, and delivering results under tight deadlines or in high-pressure situations.
Skilled at balancing strategic priorities and practical decision-making to ensure timely delivery without compromising quality.
Individual OKRs will align with team and business unit OKRs, ensuring measurable contributions to broader objectives.

Critical Knowledge:
Advanced understanding of software development principles, best practices, and patterns, supported by significant professional experience.
Expertise in modern frontend and backend frameworks, with a focus on scalable, secure, and maintainable architectures.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Critical Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in full-stack development with proven contributions to production-grade applications.
Proficiency in NextJS and modern web frameworks, with demonstrated ability to design, scale, and maintain high-performing applications.
Experience in delivering solutions that support millions of users (preferred).
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and database technologies such as PostgreSQL.
Critical Capabilities:
Strong skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and relational databases.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.
Capable of thriving under pressure and delivering results within tight deadlines.
Leadership Capabilities:
Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior developers, fostering skill growth and team excellence.
Ownership and accountability for project outcomes, coupled with the ability to lead technical initiatives independently.
Skilled at organizing and prioritizing cross-team initiatives and aligning them with strategic objectives (preferred).
